In the Pre-K classroom, there is a "teacher's drawer" just under the counter top. The drawer does not have any safety latch to prevent a child from opening it. Inside the drawer is a collection of hardware like screws, serrated edge of a packing tape dispenser and other small items presenting a choking hazard and accessible to children. Risk WAC/RCW

There is a storage room between the Pre-K room and the Toddler classrom. The room was not locked at the time of the monitor visit. A toddler walked into the storage space from their classroom. A teacher saw this happen and removed the child when they were only inches inside the room. The door was locked by this teacher without any prompting. This issue was verified on site as completed. We discussed additional safeguards to prevent children from entering the storage closet.

An electrical outlet in the infant room had button type safety covers posing a risk of choking. The outlet is already a tamper resistant, so no covers are needed. They were both removed during the visit.
