    8VAC20-780-340-A · When staff are supervising children, they shall always ensure their care, protection, and guidance.

    1. On November 21, 2024, staff #1 was supervising six children, the youngest child in the group was 13 months of age. Staff #1 was reading a story with three of the children, while three other children were playing. Child #1 began to cry. Staff #1 asked child #1 to ?come here? which was when Staff #1 noticed a braid hanging from child #1?s scalp. Staff #1 immediately called for assistance, and she held and consoled child #1. 2. Staff #1 stated that she did not know how child #1?s braid became detached from Child # 1?s scalp.
