Evidence: 1. Child #1?s parent observed during pick up on October 24, 2023, that Child #1 had a busted lip that was slightly bleeding. Child #1 reported to his parent that Staff #1 hit their head on the wall in the bathroom because they would not take a nap.? 2. Per the documentation provided by Staff #2, Program Director, as well as Staff #2?s interview, in observing the video footage in the classroom, Staff #1 was observed rough handling the child on two occasions before forcefully pulling him from his cot and taking him into the bathroom because the child would not take a nap. After taking the child out of the bathroom, Staff #1 was observed placing both of their legs across Child #1 while on the cot and continued to check under the blanket they placed over Child #1?s head to see if the child was sleeping. 3. Staff #4 confirmed hearing loud screams from the bathroom on October 24, 2023, during naptime at the center. Staff #4 notice that when Child #1 was picked up by a parent, they had had a ?busted lip.? 4. Staff #2 and Staff #3 confirmed that the actions by Staff #1 are against the policies of Children?s Harbor and failed to keep the child safe. Staff #1 violated the agency?s policy of discipline. 5. As a result of the actions in the classroom with Child #1, Staff #1 was terminated on October 25, 2023.
