22.1-289.031-A-9 · Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that the child day center is in compliance with all safe sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Evidence: 1.Observed 5 infants (two 6 months old, a 3 months old, a 4 months old and a 10 months old) sleeping on boppy pillow in a crib. The AAP recommends to keep all soft objects such as pillows, and pillow like toys from the infants sleeping area. 2.Observed two infants with propped bottles. The bottles were propped with a blanket that was wrapped around the infant?s lower face. The AAP recommends that never attach objects, such as blankets, plush or stuffed toys and other items that may present a suffocation or choking risk.
