22.1-289.035-A · Based on a review of three staff records and interview, the center did not ensure one staff

completed a required background check every five years. Evidence: 1) The most recent fingerprint-based national criminal background check in the record of Staff #1, employed on 02/28/01, was completed on 04/14/2023. The previous fingerprint-based national criminal background check was completed on 03/26/2018. The repeat background check should have been completed no later than 03/26/2023. 2) During interview, a member of management acknowledged the fingerprint-based national criminal background check for Staff #1 was not completed within the required timeframe as required. All applicants for employment, employees, applicants to serve as volunteers, and volunteers shall undergo a background check in accordance with subsection B prior to employment or beginning to serve as a volunteer and every five years thereafter.
