A caregiver used poor judgement by pouring hot water into a sink with exposed metal pipes, resulting in an infant receiving a second degree burn when the infant touched the metal pipe.

At the time of the incident the caregiver was unaware of the location of the infant. The caregiver believed the infant was still near the toy bin in the middle of the room.

During an investigation it was found that a caregiver did not utilize good judgment when they placed a pacier from one child into the mouth of another child.
