This standard was evaluated during an investigation and was determined to be deficient. A review of video surveillance footage revealed that a caregiver hit a child across the head.

Disposition: Deficiency Cited

During naptime, staff from the two toddler rooms are allowed to go to lunch at the same time leaving the children without a caregiver in either room. Instead of having staff in the rooms, the center was relying on the surveillance system to monitor the children in the front of the building.
