On April 12, 2024, LC Noel Powell received an email from the Director, Ellwanda White, stating that during a fire drill that morning there was a supervision lapse. A 9-month-old, sleeping infant was left in a crib. The report stated that "As soon as they got to the designated area and counted the children the teacher immediately remembered the sleeping child" and went back inside to get the child. The parents of the child were then notified via phone call.
