On May 3, 2023, Child Care Licensing received a self-reported incident confirming that adult:child ratios and maximum group size were not maintained by the Child Care Agency while children were on the premises, in the gymnasium, of the Child Care Agency. On this day, around 11:00a, thirty-two (32) children from Frogs, Forest Friends, Jungle Friends, and Sea Buddies were grouped together in the gymnasium for gross motor play. As required by the Child Ratio and Group Size Charts, ages twelve (12) months – thirty (30) months should have a maximum group size of twelve (12) children. Also, during this time, one (1) Educator left to cover a bathroom break while two (2) Educators left for a personal bathroom break. After these three (3) Educators left, the ratio for the combined classes was 3:32 instead of 6:32. The adult:child ratio was 3:32 for less than one (1) minute before Assistant Director reviewed the live camera footage and went to the gymnasium and the two (2) of the Educators returned to the gymnasium.
