See Below for Detailed Information Observation: The classroom was not arranged properly that will allow the educators to maintain direct supervision to a group of infants and toddlers during mealtime; also, the educators were involved in activities and classroom duties unrelated to mealtime. 1240-04-01-.11 Supervision Corrective Action: The agency will update, review, and discuss the mealtime plan with all educators; mealtime supervision training will be provided to the educators; The educators will also be required to complete training on Nutrition, Including Development and Age-Appropriate Feeding. Observation: The educator did not provide direct supervision to a 3-month old infant during tummy time. 1240-04-01-.15 PROGRAM, LANGUAGE, AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT Corrective Action: The educators will complete additional training to on Developmentally Appropriate Supervision in Childcare. Observation: The owners and director did not select educators for the infant/toddler classroom that could demonstrate effective classroom management and developmentally appropriate supervision. 1240-04-01-.06 Staff. Corrective Action: The owner and director will implement a different hiring standard for educators in the infant and toddler classrooms. The qualifications will be based on classroom experience, education, performance, and ongoing professional developmental training. The infant/toddler classroom objectives and goals will be in place and we focus on them daily. Having objectives, setting goals and striving to meet them will be essential elements to providing quality care every day to the children Observation: After several infants had fallen asleep, they were not removed from the bouncer or off the floor. They were not placed in their cribs on their backs, and the infants were not checked for breathing, body temperature, or position by an educator every fifteen (15) minutes. 1240-04-01-.11 Supervision Corrective Action: The educators will complete a hands-on training course on Safe Sleep conducted by the Tennessee Child Care Resource & Referral Network (CCR&R). Observation: After the infant had fallen asleep during tummy time, the infant was not immediately removed off the floor and placed on his back in a crib; and the infant was not touched by an educator every fifteen (15) minutes to check breathing, body temperature and position. 1240-04-01-.11 SUPERVISION. Corrective Action: The educators will complete a hands-on training course on Safe Sleep conducted by the Tennessee Child Care Resource & Referral Network (CCR&R).
