The Licensing Consultant observed the classroom during the transition from naptime and noted chaos. Two educators were present. One educator was positioned at the back of the classroom, and the other was at the front. During this time, LC observed a child seated at a table with a bowl. The child retrieved an item from the bowl and placed it in his mouth. He repeated this action and stopped chewing upon noticing the LC. LC approached and asked the child what he was eating. Educators stated that the food had been brought from home. Educators discussed how the child accessed the food and acknowledged that he should have waited for the designated snack time. The bowl was then removed by the educator.
