Technical Assistance Provided: 1. LC discussed the determination that all current staff must complete the Licensing Rules training through Pro-Solutions by September 30th. Going forward, all new employees should complete it while onboarding like Before You Begin and Shaken Baby. 2. LC reminded the agency that per new Licensing Rules, parents do not have to sign the individual Flu Immunization acknowledgment forms for each child, but the agency must communicate the information and be able to demonstrate how they did so. 3. LC discussed ensuring that agencies' classroom lesson plans are including Health and Safety components (not just hand washing). LC suggested thinking toward themes and being intentional with activities and books. 4. LC discussed the best practice of using a visual schedule to assist with challenging behaviors and provided a copy of tips and ideas via email. 5. LC discussed incorporating simple chants into the classrooms to assist with classroom management and provided examples via email. 6. LC discussed materials availability and best practices to meet QRIS guidelines for a preschool classroom and provided access to suggestions via email. 7. LC discussed the email that was sent on 07/05/23 about the staffing pattern that needs to be completed and uploaded in E Licensing supporting documents. 9. LC discussed complaint that was reported, and the agency took picture of children down within 10 minutes of putting it up and adopted a new policy where parents will sign off on all children being photographed next week at a parent meeting that is already scheduled. 10. An EPI pen in one of the classrooms will expire on 07/31/23 so you will need to get an updated one from the parent. 11. LC Walker discussed making sure that books are in the centers that relate to the center. If any violations were received, details can be observed in the compliance details section of the visit along with corresponding corrective action plans. The lesson plan did not reflect health and safety of the subject that is being taught. Also, TN-ELDS was not listed or touched on during a lesson.
