0520-12-01-.06. (1) (a) (c), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j) Program Operation, on pgs. 13-14. Each program shall maintain a system that enables all children in the program’s care to receive a level of supervision that is appropriate to their age and their development, physical and mental status so as to ensure their health and safety and that allows program personnel to know the whereabouts of each child. • Upon arrival, I started my visit on the playground where I began observing adult:child ratios and interactions with the children. I was able to see all adult:child interactions and observed the following: o There was 1 adult on the playground with 27 children. o There were 3 adults sitting at a picnic table interacting with 2 children. o There was a group of 7 children playing on the covered patio with no supervision. o There were 2 children playing behind a tree next to the building with no supervision. o There were 4 children playing in the mud under a tree, next to the parking lot with no supervision. • Children walk back and forth to the cafeteria/playground without supervision. 0520-12-01-.06, (4) (b), (h), on pgs. 15-16 • I observed children in PK4’s-8th grade playing on the playground area together. Maximum group size and adult:child ratio for multi-age grouping when preschool children are mixed with K-8th graders is 24. o The group size was 42.
