Observation: Agency received a failed fire inspection from the Knox Co Fire Marshal office on October 21,2020. It was noted that the Kids Place location had to correct a fire code violation. 1240-04-01-.16 Physical Facilities Plan of Corrective Action: Agency will be contacting the Knox Co fire codes office to get more details to complete correction and make a plan to make sure that fire codes are being maintained at all times.

Violation

Observation: One child with a bee allergy was enrolled in the program. She had an epi-pen, but the only documentation that the center had was a statement that the mother put on the child's application. Rule #: 1240-04-01-.08 Record Keeping Corrective Action: Director contacted the school nurse during the licensing visit to see if the school had a life threatening allergy plan on file. They did not. She called the parent. The parent said she had given a copy of the plan to Kids Place Camp over the summer. Director called the main Kids Place office. The staff person she spoke to was teaching a CPR/FA class and could not get copy and send at that time but she would do it when she finished. The plan was sent to the PE who received it the next morning when she got to the office.
