On May 2, 2024, around 12:15p, Licensing Consultant (LC) Jennifer Phillips observed an educator alone with children and counting in adult:child ratios without a completed background check clearance. On May 21, 2024, Child Care Licensing staff received notification of the educators exclusion from employment at this time due to the results of the background check. Management of the agency failed to ensure that all staff had proper background check clearance before allowing them to have unsupervised access to the children.
