The staff member was holding the child, making a bottle at the counter, when the child was able to pull the cord of the bottle warmer. The bottle warmer then turned over and burned the child. Electrical Cords should be inaccessible to children younger than school age.

Observation: During an unannounced visit, LC Ownby observed the Frogs classroom where there were 5 children ages 21 – 33 months grouped together. The educator called this class a 12 – 30 month class. If this classification is correct, then two of the children were 32 months old and over the age grouping. If the class was considered as a 2 year- old grouping then two of the children were 22 months and 23 months old and were too young for the grouping. In any scenario the grouping was inappropriate.
