Owners, directors, and primary educators shall be responsible for: Selecting qualified and capable staff Staff annual trainings are due every year by the end of the rating year. This was not completed by the intended date. Every operator, owner, licensee, director, primary educator or staff member of, or substitute staff member or volunteer in, a child care agency licensed by the Department of Human Services is individually responsible and required to immediately report any reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect to either the Department of Children's Services and/or local law enforcement or the judge of the juvenile court in the county of the child's residence, pursuant to T.C.A. §§ 37-1-403 and 37-1-605.

LC observed a volunteer holding ratio in a classroom. 1240-04-01-.06 STAFF (5) Volunteers. (a) Volunteers may not be counted to meet the adult:child ratios and shall never be left alone with children except parents/guardians may be counted in the adult:child ratio at a field trip location. LC observed two rooms without accurate attendance sheets. 1240-04-01-.08 RECORD KEEPING. 6. An individual attendance list shall be maintained in each classroom.

Corrective Action: The Director will train staff prior to working in the classroom. Observation - The Director/Owner did not immediately report child abuse and neglect as required. 1240-04-03-.10 HEALTH AND SAFETY. Corrective Action: The Director/Owner and all staff will receive training on child abuse reporting procedures. The Director called D.C.S. hotline on 12/19/17. The classroom had 1:8 23 months to 3 years old. The 23 month old should of been in the infant/toddler room. 1240-04-03-.06 SUPERVISION. Corrective Action: The Director will be aware of the children's ages in the group settings.
