Outdoor play space used by the facility is considered part of the facility premises. A staff person shall accompany a child to a source of emergency care and shall remain with the child until the parent assumes responsibility for the child's care. TIERED LIS: 1.) Children must be supervised at all times. Children on the facility premises and on facility excursions off the premises shall be supervised by a staff person at all times. Outdoor play space used by the facility is considered part of the facility premises. A staff person shall accompany a child to a source of emergency care and shall remain with the child until the parent assumes responsibility for the child's care. This portion of the plan requires an immediate correction date. 2.) The legal entity must develop an emergency medical treatment policy to be implemented in the facility. The written policy must include the requirement for a staff person to accompany a child in the ambulance until the parent assumes responsibility for the child. The policy must also include staffing provisions if additional children are in care. The updated policy will be added to both the parent and staff handbooks. The legal entity will submit policy/procedure to the Northeast Regional Office for approval. Once approved, all existing staff and new hires must be trained on the approved policies and procedures, and it must be documented at the facility. This date of correction will be when all of the requirements have been met.
An incident occurred on 2/10/26. Staff person #1 acknowledged that they did not accompany child #1 in the ambulance when the child needed emergency medical care, but instead followed behind in their own vehicle.
