3270.31(e)(4)(i) · Competence is the completion of training by a professional in the field of first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). All staff persons shall renew their certification in pediatric first aid and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on or before the expiration of the most current certification. Staff person #3 must be supervised at all times by a qualified staff person, an AGS or higher who has completed all preservice trainings. If there is no qualified staff to supervise staff #3, then staff #3 may not work in a child care position until updated Pediatric CPR is on file.
CPR on file for staff #3 was not in an approved curriculum. CPR on file was listed as Basic Life Support, not Pediatric. Staff person #3 must be supervised at all times by a qualified staff person, an AGS or higher who has completed all preservice trainings. Staff #1 had an NSOR dated 10/14/25, which was obtained after staff #1's start date. Staff #3 had a child abuse clearance dated 12/22/20 and updated 2/25/26, which was greater than 60 months apart. NSOR for staff #3 was dated 5/5/25, which was obtained after staff #3's start date. FBI clearance for staff #3 was dated 4/24/25, which was obtained after staff #3's start date. Staff #5 had mandated reporter training dated 2/17/26, which was completed more than 90 days from employment.

On Tuesday 3-25-25, the PS room was out of ratio. Once in the AM when a child arrived and the PS group was on the playground and this child made staff #2's ratio 1:11. Later in the classroom, Staff #1 left the room on 2 occasions leaving the classroom out if ratio by 1:12.
