At the same time, staff person #4 had observed child #2 down the hall and was on the way to return the child to the classroom. Staff person #2 took both children and returned them to the classroom. Neither staff person #1 nor staff person #2 would have been able to see the children leaving between the gate and the hallway due to furniture set up in the classroom.
