Upon inspection of the facility's written policy for recognizing and responding to shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma, it was found that specific details related to 1. strategies for coping with a crying, fussing, or distraught child AND 2. the prevention and identification of child maltreatment were not included.

PROVISIONAL HIRE UNSUPERVISED: A provisional employee may not be permitted to work alone with children and must work within the vicinity of a permanent employee. A facility person's record shall include a copy of requests for the criminal history record and child abuse registry clearance information, a copy of the disclosure statement and a copy of the completed clearance information required under the CPSL. Facility Person #1--- may not work in a child care position at the facility.

The file for Facility Person #1 did not contain current State Police, Child Abuse or FBI fingerprint clearance results. There was no current State Police clearance on file, the Child Abuse clearance observed was dated 5/4/2018 and the FBI fingerprint clearance was dated 5/24/2018. Facility Person #1 was observed working unsupervised with children.
