    Observed an infant sleeping in the infant classroom with the mattress still inside the original plastic packaging with a suffocation warning label on the bag stating to "remove before use". The mattress did not have a crib sheet, and the infant was sleeping directly on the plastic bag. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends infant's sleep in a crib, bassinet or portable play yard with a firm, flat mattress and a fitted sheet.
