  • Violation

3270.76 · Floors, walls, ceilings and other surfaces, including the facility's outdoor play space surfaces shall be kept clean, in good repair and free from visible hazards.

In the Pre-School Room, trim was separating from the wall in several places in the lunch area (under windows) and near the rear exit to the outdoor play space. These areas of separation allow for excessive dirt buildup and also create potential pinch points. In the Infant Room, an unused cable hookup was observed on the wall in the play space. This metal hookup was at approximately head-height for mobile infants and creates a risk for injury. In the Toddler Room, the trim separating the tiled area from the carpeted area was beginning to lift up in the middle, causing a tripping hazard. Also in the Toddler Room, the trim along the wall near the front exit was separating from the wall, causing both dirt buildup and potential pinch points. Throughout the facility, dirt and dust buildup was observed around most of the vents in the ceiling, particularly in the childcare spaces. The facility's ventilation system was observed to have a visible buildup of dust and dirt in and around the ceiling vents in the childcare spaces.
