Educator(s) in the 2 yr. old class room failed to make appropriate physical contact to comfort and support children in daily routines and interactions when children were distressed. The following was observed: the educator was observed on video footage washing the child's hands, then she proceeded to sit down the child at the table as the other children were eating breakfast. The child was crying, and the educator failed to comfort the child. The educator was observed giving the child his plate and drink and then failing to comfort him again; the child kept crying until another educator made hand gestures and told the child he was fine, the child stopped crying. The director and administration will have a meeting with educators to discuss how they can assist the children with self-regulation, different techniques on how to comfort the children.
