It was observed that the children in the Toddler - (12 - 24 mo.)/Infant - (6 wk. - 12 mo.) classroom(s) were left alone with a volunteer who does not meet all the requirements for staff members. ***The volunteers were not in the educator's line of sight for approximately 20 seconds when the volunteers were washing the children's hands in the bathroom*** The staff members will ensure the volunteers are in their direct line of sight at all times. 8.9.4.23.A.9.:A program will maintain staff/child ratios and group sizes at all times based on the youngest child present in the group. Children must never be left unattended whether inside or outside the facility. Staff will be onsite, available and responsive to children during all hours of operation. All educators shall perform headcounts at regular intervals throughout the day. Finding The child(ren) in the Infant - (6 wk. - 12 mo.)/Toddler - (12 - 24 mo.) classroom(s) was/were left unattended when the educator was doing a diaper change while giving her back to an infant that was in a crib for approximately one minute. Corrective Action Plan The educators will be instructed to change their positioning to be able to supervise the children under their care.
