The child(ren) in the Preschool class room(s) was/were left unattended when the preschool classroom was cleaning up from snack and transitioning to play outside, a child that was left asleep inside a cozy cubie in the classroom as the resto of the children including the educators walked outside.. Director states one educator was involved, educator will be given a write up along with a suspension. The educator will also be required to take the two courses (Safe Spaces and Places to Grow & Keeping Our Children Safe: Planning Head and Being Prepared). The center will also have an hourly check sheet for the educators to count the number of children who are in the classroom every hour. The cubicle will also be getting removed from the classroom as well.

8.9.4.23 · A PERSONNEL AND STAFFING REQUIREMENTS
The child(ren) in the Early PreK Classroom(s) was/were left unattended when she was using the restroom in the classroom for an unknown amount of time while the rest of the group was outside. A parent walked out the child to the playground and notified the director. ***The educator was terminated*** When Educator begins work shift, they will be required to pick up bathroom passes assigned to the classroom. During their shift when a student needs to use the bathroom, they will be required to request the pass from the teacher. The child will be required to hand the pass on the door or a hook near the door. The teacher will need to walk toward the bathroom to stand around door area to keep supervision of the child as well as the others in the classroom. Once the child is finished in the bathroom, they will give the pass back to the teacher and reenter the activities. After child has completed in the bathroom Educator will resume normal instruction or supervisor of the classroom. Bathrooms will not be used to wash hands for meals or returning from outside unless Teacher is standing next to bathroom. To ensure smooth implementation, educators will undergo a refresher on policies, including procedures for counting children before outdoor activities, and lining up before heading to the playground. Additionally, all employees will be required to sign the policies to acknowledge their understanding of the terms. Before the shift change, educators will conduct a thorough briefing, discussing the day's agenda, the number of children present, and any pertinent information for families at the end of the day. Both educators involved will then sign off on the attendance sheet, confirming their understanding before transitioning the shift.
