8.9.4.31 · B Capacity of a Home
The group day care home exceeded the allowable number of children stated on the license by either total or age as evidenced by by attendance sheets on 5/13/24 there were 19 children in the afternoon.. 8/28/24 - Immediate Action - purchased a daycare cell phone to stay here while I am gone if this were to ever happen again so staff can communicate with parents and families. I had a staff meeting to let them know what had happened and reassured them it was an honest mistake, but they needed to pay more attention. I did explain to them not only is it regulation that we stay with 12 only with 4 only being under 2, but I also explained that an emergency or accident can happen so suddenly so it’s better to be in regulation than not. I have also been looking into different buildings to expand from home operation to facility. 8/28/24 - Preventative Action - Having training to show all staff new and old how to properly communicate with parents and family and arranging schedule of pick-up and drop-off. Making sure they understand the importance of the capacity to be under regulation even if times get hard and stressful. 8/28/24- Compliance Monitoring - Train staff on a quarterly basis on the understanding of staying in ratio.
