Guidance being used by staff in the 2 yr. old class room(s) is not positive and does not include redirection and clear limits to encourage the child's ability to become self-disciplined. Immediate Actions: Moving forward from the day of this letter, as a precautious form of measurement, management shall convey to the educators to be strictly aware of their appropriate care and attention to/with the children, they must apply their knowledge and positive discipline in order to autonomously achieve a correct natural behavior, in this way they could learn to regulate their emotions and overall, improve interactions with others. Positive discipline will be applied in the following ways: 1) Identifying the reason why the problem is occurring. 2) Correcting children's behavior through more personalized immediate attention, asking what the problem is, listening to, finding a solution and explaining that what they are doing is not correct. 3) Explaining components to why the situation in which the child finds himself into, could bring a consequence which implies a risk for her/him or her/his respective classmates. 4) Offering and facilitating other alternatives in order for the child to realize what is incorrect and thus, that his behavior could have some consequence(s), giving him the ability to comprehend and therefore, in the future, the child is able to understand and solve the problem individually. Preventive actions: Management will set limits, continue to encourage educators and teach them that they have to move forward and continue their routine in order to create a habit. For example, every time they play in an area, once they finish playing, they must place all the things and toys in their respective location. Once they finish returning the toys, the children can continue with another activity in that same or different area. At mealtime or snack time all children should leave all toys in their respective place and go to the dining table without any toys. In result, this will avoid distractions, accidents, and therefore, children can eat their food properly. Educators are in constant training to obtain the greatest knowledge in their education as well as learning daily from the children. Certificates or diplomas evidencing the necessary courses that apply for the age range as they are included in their class will be required. In general, to prevent accidents at the Daycare, the following measures are being taken: · Have specific places to store school supplies, toys and children's personal items. · Leave enough space between furniture and passageways. · New spaces with cozy areas and furniture were designed to make the children comfortable and carry out their activities correctly. · Maintain order and cleanliness in classrooms and throughout the school.
