8.9.4.24 · H SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL RESPONSIVE ENVIRONMENT
During the inspection, it was observed that the educator(s) was/were not calm when a stressful situation occurred when as evidence by video footage verifying educator forcefully pulling on a 2-year-old males arm and gesturing angrily toward a toy that was thrown. Immediate: On 7/7/25 the Director sent the Educator for the rest of the day. The Director took immediate action and reported to ECECD. The Educator did not return after 3 consecutive days and was terminated. Preventative: Effective 7/7/25 the center will reinforce their commitment to maintaining a supportive environment by providing regular reminders during staff meetings about protocols for managing stress and conflict. An open- door policy will be maintained for staff to voice concerns or request support when needed. All incidents, however minor, will be thoroughly documented and reviewed to ensure continuous improvement and the well-being of both the children and staff. Moving forward, plans for professional development will specifically address de- escalation techniques and positive guidance strategies. This proactive approach will help cultivate a culture of trust, safety, and respect throughout the centers learning community.
