3A:52-5.4(a)(6)(i) · For early childhood programs, the following shall apply, kitchen facility requirements are as follows: the kitchen facility or food preparation area shall be separated from other areas of the center by a door, gate, screen, or other barrier to prevent accidental access by children.

3A:52-5.3(r) · The center shall take any steps required by the Office of Licensing to correct conditions in the building or center that may endanger the health, safety, and well-being of the children served.

Ensure the staff and children's health by having the staff wear a mask at all times as specified in the DCF Health and Safety Requirements. A staff member answered the center's door without wearing a mask. Ensure the staff and children's health by having a staff member screen the children and staff prior to entering the center as specified in the DCF Health and Safety Requirements. The staff and children were permitted to enter the center without receiving the health screening. The thermometer was locked up in the office and the screening staff had called out sick. Ensure the staff and children's health by not permitting non-essential people to enter the center as specified in the DCF Health and Safety Requirements. A parent was permitted to enter the center to pick up a child. Ensure the staff and children's health by having an essential visitor screened as specified in the DCF Health and Safety Requirements. The inspector entered the center after providing the temperature to a staff member but was not asked the screening questions. Ensure the safety and well being of the children by removing the slide locks from the door in each room. There is a slide lock on the interior of each classroom door.

3A:52-5.3(b)(7)(i) · Outdoor maintenance and sanitation requirements are as follows: the center shall comply with the Playground Safety Subcode of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, as specified in N.J.A.C. 5:23-11. centers that take children to a community playground shall ensure that the playground surfacing and all other elements comply with the Playground Safety Subcode before being used by the children.

Ensure play equipment meets public playground standards ASTM F-1487 as per CPSC. Remove the large plastic cube from the playground as it is not permitted to be secured and can tip over.
