Special care plan lacked the exact way to respond to the allergy. The epi pen was in the classroom. One pen was stored in a plastic sandwich bag while the other was in the prescription box. Interviews indicated that this child also required the administration of Benadryl before the epi pen is used, but the Benadryl was not in the classroom, but instead in the office. Ensure all necessary medicines are clearly indicated on the specials care plan from the doctor, and that that care plan and the medications are kept in the classroom for immediate administration.
