This visit was conducted by Jennifer Davis, childcare consultant with Manita Broaddus and Val Smith, Owners/Operators. Your program currently operates with a Five Star license effective 3/30/2022. Restrictions include daytime care, meets enhanced ratios minus one and meets enhanced space. The license was observed, and the restrictions were found in compliance. The program’s compliance history was 97% prior to today’s visit. All programs are required to maintain at least 75% compliance. A walk-through of the facility was completed today. Indoor and outdoor areas were observed. Upon arrival, staff/child ratio and space capacity were monitored as indicated on the attached worksheet. There were six children, ages 1 to 4. Supervision was adequate during the visit. They are providing child care on first shift. I observed positive interactions today. I observed children in free play, routine care and gross motor play. I observed developmentally appropriate materials and activities were available to the children in the classrooms. The last annual compliance visit was conducted on 2/27/2024. A sanitation inspection was completed 1/24/2025 with a Superior classification. The last fire inspection was conducted on 2/3/2025. Generations Preschool and Childcare, Inc. was listed as current and active on the NC Secretary of State Website on 2/11/2025. Program records and required postings were monitored. A fire drill was conducted on 2/3/2025. A lockdown drill was documented on 2/3/2025. An outdoor inspection was documented on 2/3/2025. Staff files and children’s records were monitored per DCDEE procedures. The smoke detector was tested and was working properly during the visit today. Storage of hazardous items was monitored today. There are no children currently on any medications. The program does not provide transportation. The following violation was cited during today’s visit: Violation Number Comment Rule 1824 The trained staff did not review the EPR Plan annually or when information in the plan changed to ensure all information was current.
