Name of Operation: PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGELS Facility ID: 65000323 Consultant: APRIL BOSSE Operation Type: Family CC Home Case Number: Visit Date: 6/4/2024 Number Present: 5 Completed Date: 6/4/2024 Age: From 1 To 4 Total Minutes: -600 Time In: 10:45 AM Time Out: 12:45 AM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Family CC Home Type Of Visit: Routine Unannounced Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of today’s visit was to monitor your program for compliance with applicable child care requirements for a routine unannounced visit. Your program currently operates with a five-star license issued March 30, 2022, earning 7 points in the education component, 7 points in the program standards component and 1 quality point in the programmatic option. Prior to the visit the compliance history score was 98%. You, Cheryl Aguilar, Owner/Operator, were present and engaged with the children upon arrival. Your husband, Joseph Aguilar, arrived 20 minutes into the visit and joined you with the children. The license was posted, and the restrictions were in compliance. A walk-through of the facility was completed today, all indoor and outdoor areas were monitored. I observed children engaged in group time singing songs about the months, talking about community helpers, and reading books about construction workers. You interacted with the children meeting the developmental needs for each child. After group time, children engaged with paper and crayons to draw a picture of tools that construction workers might use. A current activity plan was posted and aligned with NC Early Childhood Foundations. CPR/First Aid, qualifying letters for all household members, vehicle information, and ITS-SIDS certifications were all up to date and available for review. One violation was observed today and corrected during the visit. Violation Number Comment Rule 706 Corrosive agents, pesticides, bleaches, detergents, cleansers, polishes, and products under pressure in an aerosol dispenser and any substance that may be hazardous to a child if ingested, inhaled, or handled were not kept in locked storage when children were in care. An aerosol can of Lysol was not kept in locked storage when children were in care. .1719 (a)(7) Child care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Any violation(s) documented may impact the compliance history score. Technical assistance: An aerosol can of Lysol was located on top of the cabinet in the child care space. This item was placed in locked storage upon discovering it and therefore this violation was corrected during the visit. Please review child care rules regarding storage and accessibility of potentially hazardous items. Items labeled “Keep out of reach of children” with no other warnings must be stored at a minimum of five feet off the floor. Hazardous cleaning supplies, including those kept under pressure in an aerosol can, as well as medications must be kept in locked storage. The definition of locked storage requires that the lock be unlocked with some type of device such as a key or combination. Regular childproofing locks do not meet this requirement. Ensure that all cleaning supplies and other items labeled “Keep out of reach of children” are kept inaccessible while children are in care. Reminders: Childcare licensing requirements are established to ensure a safe and healthy child care environment. Therefore, it is important for you to be knowledgeable of all of the licensing requirements that apply to your type of program. It is your responsibility to maintain compliance with all of the applicable laws and rules at all times whether or not they have been monitored or specifically discussed with you in the past. The best way for you to make sure that you are meeting all requirements is to periodically review the child care law and rules.
