This program currently operates with a One Star License, issued January 1, 2009. Restrictions on the permit include: first shift only, a capacity of 81, an age range of 0-12, and no cooking allowed in the building. The last annual compliance with differential monitoring visit was conducted by Child Care Consultant Shereen Pickett on 03/13/2024. Prior to this visit, this facility's eighteen-month compliance history was 100%. According to the Secretary of State’s website, the corporation’s status, Classy Bears Day Care Preschool, Inc., is current and active. Sanitation – 11/05/2024 – Superior Fire – 05/21/2024 – approved for daytime care only Tammy Bishop, Assistant Administrator was present and available for consultation. Infants in spaces 5 and 6 received care based on individual needs, including feeding, diapering and napping routines. Safe sleep checks and infant feeding schedules were monitored and found to be in compliance. Children in space 4 were engaged in center play, accessing a variety of age-appropriate materials. Children in spaces 1-3 were observed during outdoor play. Meals are provided from home daily. One violation was observed and must be corrected immediately. Violation Number Comment Rule 844 Prescribed medicine was not in original labeled container or accompanied by signed and dated written instructions from prescribing physician or health care professional. In space 3, an inhaler used with a child was not stored in the original labeled container. .0803(2)(a) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Any violation(s) documented may impact the compliance history score. The violation(s) documented must be corrected immediately. On or before March 07, 2025, I must receive a written, dated, and signed compliance letter that describes accurately and in detail, how and when the violations were corrected. Please be aware any information submitted by you is considered legal documentation. If you email the compliance letter, it must be sent from the email address registered with the DCDEE and the following information must be included: name, position, facility name, and facility ID number. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED FOR VIOLATION CITED: Prescription medications must be brought to the program in the original container with the pharmacy label attached. Today I suggested that you review medication requirements with staff and periodically check behind them to ensure all requirements are met. REMINDERS: Mulch on all playgrounds needs fluffing or additional mulch added to maintain proper surfacing at all times. Continue to hammer down bolts as they begin to rise on the plastic border of the playgrounds. This is to ensure they don't become a tripping hazard. Spray paint tree roots with a bright color to cut down on the possibility of the children tripping. At the completion of this visit, the visit summary was printed, reviewed, signed and a copy was left with you. If the operator fails to correct any documented violations within the established time period, the Division of Child Development and Early Education may deny, suspend, terminate, or revoke any permit to operate (10A NCAC 09 .2000).
