A checklist was used to note the requirements I monitored today. This facility currently operates with a three-star license as of 4/22/24. This facility has a 99% compliance score as of 3/9/26. The last annual compliance visit was on 3/25/25. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the office staff. I informed Brittany Willard, Program Director, of the purpose of today’s visit. Ms. Willard gave me the necessary paperwork I needed to complete today’s visit. The last fire drill was conducted 2/27/26. The last emergency drill (Shelter-in-place) was conducted on 12/9/26. Fifty-four (54) children were present during today’s visit. I observed the indoor spaces. I observed both staff/child ratio and supervision and found both to be in compliance. During today’s visit, I observed the children being greeted by program staff as they arrived to the cafeteria, eating snack, and large group time. The children then transitioned to homework and center time. All medication and hazardous items were out of the children's reach. The paperwork was complete. EQUiPD: The EQUiPD website has many webinar trainings that can be completed online for no cost and have been approved by NCDCDEE. https://equipdinfo.weebly.com/pre-recorded-sessions.html Linking Criminal Background Checks – Staff need to log into the Criminal Background Check Portal on the DCDEE website and link to the facility license number. It is important to do this so staff at DCDEE can contact the center if a random criminal history check uncovers a staff member with a criminal charge or conviction working in a child care facility. It is also a way to for staff at the CBC Unit to keep you updated of the status of out-of-state checks if a new employee has a Provisional Qualification. Instructions on how to link to the facility was provided today. In the future, new staff need to link within five days of hire or transfer to your center.
