You, Sarah Rogers, Site Coordinator, assisted me with today’s visit. The last Annual Compliance Visit was completed on September 18, 2023. The facility operates with a five star license issued on May 8, 2017, earning 7 points in program standards, 5 points in education standards, and 1 quality point. The 18-month compliance history is at 100% as of February 20, 2024. The last sanitation inspection was completed on September 14, 2023, with a “Superior” classification. The last fire inspection was completed on April 3, 2023, and your facility was approved for daytime care only. I observed your Five Star License, Safe Procedures for Arrival and Departure, current menu, sanitation placard, Emergency Numbers, Emergency Medical Care Plan, First Aid information sheet, tobacco free policy signage, Summary of NC Child Care Law, evacuation plans, current daily schedules, current activity plans, staff-child ratio sheets, and allergies posted as required. I observed adequate supervision, staff/child ratios reduced by one child per age group, enhanced space, and licensed capacity maintained during today’s visit. I observed sign-in and out sheets located on a clipboard. I observed attendance records to be current as required. I observed materials and equipment to be of sufficient quantity, developmentally appropriate, and in good repair. I observed children engaged in free choice activities. In the classroom, I observed a bottle of hand sanitizer at the entrance of the classroom stored below five feet. In the gym, I observed two bottles of hand sanitizer, a container of disinfectant wipes, and disinfectant spray stored on a cart below five feet. These items were labeled “keep out of reach of children”. Staff members placed these items above five feet in the classroom and the items in the gym were placed in locked storage during today’s visit. You stated that no children currently enrolled receive medications while in Prime-Time care. You stated that no children have medical action plans. I observed the most recent emergency drill in the form of a shelter-in-place was conducted on November 20, 2023, at 3:15pm. I observed your incident log to be current and complete as required. I observed no new staff members had been hired since the last ACV on September 18, 2023. I monitored two existing staff files for valid Criminal Background Check (CBC) qualification letters, current CPR and First Aid, Recognizing and Responding to Suspicions of Child Maltreatment, and BSAC training. A substitute was present during today’s visit. I monitored appropriate paperwork on file for this staff member. I observed no violations related to staff records.
