Upon arrival today you stated that you do not have any children enrolled at the present time. You stated that you have not had children enrolled since January 31, 2025. I monitored the indoor environment for the posted items and any safety issues. The permit, sanitation placard, evacuation plan, safe arrival and departure procedures, first aid chart, menus, daily schedules, staff/child ratios, emergency medical care plan, emergency telephone numbers and a summary of NC Child Care Law were all posted at the time of today's visit. No new staff members were hired since the 7-18-24 annual compliance visit. Therefore, no staff files were reviewed during the visit. The storage of medication and hazardous products was also monitored for compliance during today's visit. A four-star child care center with four points in education, two points in program and one quality point was issued to you 8-4-23. Based on observations made and information provided, you continue to meet the requirements previously met to obtain such a license. During the visit, we discussed the extension of the hold harmless status and the upcoming changes to our rated license system. I encourage you to closely monitor your email for information pertaining to the new system and contact me if you have questions. Violation Number Comment Rule 1044 Prior to the expiration date of the qualification letter, the child care provider did not complete and submit required forms to complete a criminal background check (a qualification letter is valid for a maximum of five years for the date of issuance). Someone was living in the home without a qualification letter. G.S. 110-90.2(b) & .2703(n)&(o) 1757 A valid qualification letter was not on file and available to review at the facility. Someone lived in the home who did not have a qualification letter. G.S. 110-90.2(b) & (d) & .2703(e) You stated today that your son has moved back home and is living at the residence. I asked today to see his qualification letter and you said he hasn’t gotten one yet. I reminded you today that you may not enroll any children until your son has a qualification letter. I informed you today that I might have to place your license in an inactive status until your son receives his qualification letter.
