Name of Operation: LITTLE KINGS & QUEENS DAYCARE Facility ID: 64000418 Consultant: APRIL FLEMING Operation Type: Family CC Home Case Number: Visit Date: 10/2/2024 Number Present: 4 Completed Date: 10/2/2024 Age: From 1 To 3 Total Minutes: 135 Time In: 11:50 AM Time Out: 02:05 PM Time In: Time Out: List to Use: Family CC Home Type Of Visit: Annual Comp Full Announced/Unannounced: Unannounced The purpose of my unannounced annual compliance visit was to monitor this program for compliance with applicable child care requirements. This family child care home currently operates with a Four Star License issued July 31, 2018. The last annual compliance visit was completed on November 7, 2023. A checklist was used to note the Family Child Care Home requirements monitored today. B. Matthews, owner/operator was present and available to assist. Four (4) children were present age ranging 1-3 years of old. Children were observed napping, and quiet activities if awake. The caregiver observed and interacted with children in a positive manner. This family child care home is licensed to serve (8) children. Children are enrolled on first shift. A walk-through of the home was completed. Fire/lock down, shelter in place drill and playground inspections was current. The last fire inspection was completed on September 18, 2023, and the last home occupation was completed October 4, 2024. TRANSPORTATION: Transportation requirements were monitored and found in compliance. The following violations of child care requirements were documented. Violation Number Comment Rule 1544 The child care operator did not comply with all State laws, federal laws and/or local ordinances that pertain to child health, safety, and welfare, as required by General Statute 110-91. A fire inspection was not completed within 12 months of the previous inspection dated September 18, 2023. GS 110-91 The above violation must be corrected immediately. The letter must describe, in detail, specifically how each violation has been corrected and any supporting documents. You can mail or email me verification of compliance regarding the violations that were documented. If you choose to mail, two signed and dated copies must be sent and received by October 16, 2024. Please be aware that any written information submitted by you regarding correction of the violations documented during today's visit is legal documentation. It is important that all information submitted be accurate and truthful. Please be aware that if it is determined that information submitted was inaccurate or willfully falsified, an Administrative Action, including Revocation of the facility's license could be issued. Therefore, it is important for you to be knowledgeable of all the licensing requirements that apply to your type of program. It is your responsibility to maintain compliance with all the applicable laws and rules always if they have been monitored or specifically discussed with you in the past. The best way for you to make sure that you are meeting all requirements is to periodically review the child care law and rules. COMPLIANCE HISTORY: Prior to today's visit, this facility has maintained an 18-month compliance score of 100%. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE/CONSULTATION: CAREGIVER & CHILDREN RECORDS: Verification of required information for operator form was received and all information was not in compliance. The fire inspection was not completed within twelve months of the previous inspection dated September 18, 2023. Ongoing training hours were incomplete. You should complete trainings and submit to me by November 7, 2024. Children records were in compliance. To ensure compliance, you should create a to do list or document on a calendar as a reminder to complete inspections. HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS: Required criminal background qualification was observed current for household member(s). A current household member will be sixteen years of age in November. You were reminded at the age of sixteen, a criminal background qualification is required. I encourage you to complete the process as soon as possible to ensure compliance by the November birthday. If there are changes in your household, please contact me. CLEAN WATER FOR US KIDS: The Clean Water for Carolina Kids reports for lead in water, lead base paint and asbestos was observed completed. The reports were verified completed in the clean water for US kids facility data. STAR RATED LICENSE (SRL): Hold harmless has been extended until the new QRIS is implemented (SB 425). This means that no child care facilities in cohort one will have a rated license assessment this year unless they voluntarily want to. Also, cohort two do not need to start a preparation year. More information will be forthcoming. PROVIDER DOCUMENTS/FORMS: You should visit the website often to ensure you’re using all updated forms. All requirements must be included if you choose to use your own forms electronically or hard copy. Child care rules updated effective January 1, 2024. RESOURCES: • The most current provider documents/ forms, checklists, resources related to child care, MOODLE trainings, and new child care requirements can be found on the Division of Child Development and Early Education website. https://ncchildcare.ncdhhs.gov/ If the operator fails to correct any documented violations within the established time period, the Division of Child Development and Early Education may deny, suspend, terminate, or revoke any permit to operate (10A NCAC 09 .2000).
