You, N. Lea Griffin, Lead teacher assisted me with the visit. Your program currently operates with a 5 star license effective July 1, 2022. M. Bell and N. Lea Griffin assisted me with today’s visit. Your program currently operates with a five-star license, issued July 1, 2022, earning 7 points in the education component, 7 points in the program standards component (meeting enhanced ratios minus one) and 1 quality point for all lead teachers having an AAS or higher in early childhood education or child development. Your program was also monitored for compliance with implementing an approved curriculum as required for all four- and five-star licensed facilities where four-year-old children are enrolled. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was one hundred percent as of November 18, 2025. Martin County Schools is listed as the owner of this program. The license was posted, and the restrictions were in compliance. A walk-through of the facility was completed today; all indoor and outdoor areas were monitored. I observed children in the indoor learning environment and found supervision and staff/child ratios to be in compliance. Children throughout the facility were participating in group time, free play in activity areas, transitions and personal care routines. The teachers were interacting and meeting the developmental needs for each of the children. Files for staff were reviewed. Rated license requirements were reviewed to ensure compliance was maintained with current program and education components as well as the quality point. Fire and sanitation inspections have been completed since the last visit. The fire inspection was completed on May May 15, 2025, and the sanitation inspection was completed on October 22, 2025. Both inspections remain current. One violation was observed today. The violation must be corrected immediately. The violation is as follows: Violation Number Comment Rule 807 A safe indoor and outdoor environment was not provided for the children. A section of the black border surrounding the larger play structure on the preschool playground was cracked, resulting sharp points and an opening that present a risk for children’s hands to become stuck. 10A NCAC 09 .0601(a) Child care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent.
