Your program currently operates with a Four-star license. Your program was also monitored for compliance with implementing an approved curriculum as required for all four- and five-star licensed facilities where four-year-old children are enrolled. Today’s visit was conducted with you, Suzanne Meyers, Lead Teacher. I monitored the one classroom in use for compliance with supervision, and staff interaction/discipline. The NC Pre-K requirements in section .3000 of the childcare rules were monitored for compliance. Staff-child ratios and maximum group sizes required in Child Care Rule 10A NCAC 09 .3009 were verified in compliance. Children enrolled were finishing up free play and transitioning to group time. Later children ate lunch and played outside. Proper hand washing techniques was observed. The facility was monitored for health and safety requirements both indoors and outdoors. The program requirements, along with equipment and furnishings were also observed. Compliance with staff records was documented by you and a sampling of your staff records and children’s records were reviewed today. Two violations regarding children records were documented. Staff records were reviewed. A sampling of children’s records was reviewed and information documented on the children’s records form. A checklist was used to monitor compliance today. The last annual compliance visit was conducted 3/23/23. The sanitation and fire inspections were current. NC PRE-K REQUIREMENTS: You use the Brigance screenings. The center uses the Teaching Strategies Gold instrument to document evidence of children's ongoing progress. The checkpoint assessments are conducted three times per year: at the beginning, middle and end of the school year. Parent conferences are held throughout the year. NC Pre-K requirements complied. The following violations were cited: Violation Number Comment Rule 1321 Medical exam or health assessment record was not on file before or within 30 days after admission. Medical exam was not on file for one child. GS110-91(1) 1323 Each child was not immunized as per Article 6 of Chapter 130A and an immunization record was not on file before or within 30 days after admission. One child did not have immunization record on file. 10A NCAC 09 .0302(d)(2) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Any violation(s) documented may impact the compliance history score. The violation(s) documented must be corrected immediately. On or before 3//6/2024, I must receive a written, dated, and signed compliance letter that describes accurately and in detail how and when the violations were corrected.
