A checklist was used to note the requirements I monitored today. Today’s visit was conducted with Jackie Battle, owner/operator. Your FCCH operates with a 2- STAR rated license. Upon arrival, there were two preschool-age children present, one was playing with toys, and the other was resting in the childcare area. I monitored program/space/equipment requirements, program records, provider records (documented on the verification of information page), capacity/supervision, and hazardous products. Fire drill- 9/4/2025 @ 10:27am and took 16 seconds Lockdown drill 9/4/2025 @ 10:31 am and took 21 seconds Outdoor play inspection- 9/4/2025 EPR plan updated 1/16/2025 ABCMS requirement has not been completed and a violation of childcare requirements was cited. First Aid and CPR training- a violation of childcare requirements was cited due to not being renewed by the expiration date. Violation Number Comment Rule 508 Operator did not successfully complete a first aid course as referenced in Rule.1702(b)(2) First aid training was not renewed on or before the expiration of the certification. The operator did not renew her training before the expiration date in March 2025. .1703(a)(2) 511 Operator did not successfully complete a CPR course as referenced in Rule.1702(b)(2) CPR training was not renewed on or before the expiration of the certification. The operator did not renew her training before the expiration date in March 2025. .1703(a)(3) 1847 A child care operator did not notify the Division of any new child care providers, as defined in G.S. 110-90.2(a)(2), who were hired or moved into the child care facility within five business days. The provider did not completed ABCMS criminal record portal requirement as documented in rule. G.S. 110-90.2 & .2703(r) ****TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE/REMINDERS: ***** CPR/First Aid: a. Must be approved agency b. Face-to-face only; no on-line or blended courses c. Renew every two years before the expiration date on the certification card (does not count towards on-going training hours) ABCMS-: As stated in G.S. 110-90.2 & .2703(r) child care operators are to notify the Division of any new child care providers working who were hired or moved into the child care facility within five business days. The process of notifying the Division has changed and is now captured in ABCMS. This change has been in effect since February 2024. You stated that you will complete the training and send me your certificate with the compliance letter. Once the training has been completed and access has been given, you must verify your facility roster to ensure current staff are noted on the roster. This information should be updated in ABCMS on an ongoing basis as staff members are hired and when their employment is terminated. Violations of childcare requirements were cited during today’s visit and require a letter of corrective action by September 30th, 2025.
