Upon arrival, I was greeted by the provider Sharon Jones. You assisted me with the visit. I completed a general walk through of the children's space, outdoor space and bathroom. At the time of visit, there were two (2) children present. The children were observed coloring with markers and colored pencils. I observed materials and a play area set up for school age children. LICENSE STATUS Currently, this Family Child Care Home (FCCH) operates with a four star license issued November 12, 2023. INSPECTIONS I reviewed required inspections including fire drills, emergency drills, and outdoor inspections. All inspections were found to be in compliance. DESIGNATED CHILDREN’S SPACE The children’s space is located in the lower level of a split-level home. In the children’s space, there are a variety of manipulatives, pretend play toys, books and art materials for the children to explore throughout the day. The provider uses a changing table for children who are still diapering and the bathroom is located in the in the adjacent room near the children’s space. MONITORING During this visit, a full assessment of Child Care Requirements was conducted. A checklist was used to note the requirements monitored today. All spaces were monitored for supervision, staff/child ratios, materials, equipment, transportation and required postings. I reviewed the provider’s paperwork. Mrs. Jones will send additional paperwork after the visit. The checklist will be provided at the end of the visit. ANNUAL IN-SERVICE TRAININGS This provider’s annual in-service calendar dates are January 1st- December 31st. One violation was documented: Violation Number Comment Rule 1831 A valid qualification letter was not on file and available for review at the facility. THe provider's husband's qualification letter expired in November 2025. G.S. 110-90.2 (b) & (d) & .2703(e) .1702(b)(1) The above violation MUST be corrected immediately. Please mail or email your letter of compliance by February 12, 2026. The letter must address the violation and describe how the violation was corrected. Any violations documented during visits to your program may have an impact on the total compliance history score and cause your score to drop below the mandated level. **Prior to today’s visit, the compliance history score for the center was 100%. Any violations cited during today's visit may affect this percentage. TECHNICALL ASSISTANCE/CONSULTATION *****We discussed your and your husband’s qualification letter. It expired November 2025. QRIS We discussed Pathway 2 and you are considering Pathway 2. We discussed the requirements for the pathway for example approved curriculum. ABCMS PORTAL North Carolina Child Care Providers can obtain access to the Provider Access to ABCMS after completing the Moodle training and completing the form afterward. Once providers are logged in, you can access codes to allow your staff and applicants to create a connecting application to link themselves to your facility.
