Upon arrival, I was greeted by the provider, Julie Hines. You assisted me with the visit. I completed a general walk through of the children's space, kitchen area, outdoor space and bathroom. At the time of arrival there were 4 children present. The children were observed playing with materials, moving about in the child care space, and interacting with the provider. LICENSE STATUS Currently this Family Childcare Home (FCCH) operates with a four-star license issued 2/11/19. INSPECTIONS I reviewed required inspections including fire drills, emergency drills, and outdoor inspections. All inspections were found to be in compliance. DESIGNATED CHILDREN’S SPACE The children’s space is located to the right as you enter the home. In the children’s space, there are a variety of manipulatives, pretend play toys, books and art materials for the children to explore throughout the day. The provider uses a changing mat for children who are still diapering and the bathroom is located in the in the adjacent room near the children’s space. Mats and pack-n-play are used for nap time. MONITORING During this visit, a full assessment of Child Care Requirements was conducted. A checklist was used to note the requirements monitored today. All spaces were monitored for supervision, capacity, materials, equipment and required postings. The following violation was documented: Violation Number Comment Rule 1831 A valid qualification letter was not on file and available for review at the facility. Any violations cited during today's visit may affect this percentage. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE **We discussed your husband’s qualification letter. It expired 3/5/35. You thought he had 2 more years. AGENCY UPDATES ABCMS PORTAL Provider Access to ABCMS is Live! North Carolina Child Care Providers can obtain access to the Provider Access to ABCMS after completing the Moodle training and completing the form afterward. Once providers are logged in, you can access codes to allow your staff and applicants to create a connecting application to link themselves to your facility. You have completed the training and received your power form. WATER TESTING Currently, there is funding for FCCH to get their water, paint and asbestos tested for lead for free.
