We discussed the following items of technical assistance today: Staff Records: Record keeping is one of the most time-consuming tasks associated with administering a child care program. It is an important part of licensure. Review staff files often to ensure the program maintains accurate licensing records. We discussed making sure that you develop a record keeping system for staff records that promotes organization and efficiency. Administrative staff must allow time to review all necessary documentation of staff files to ensure accuracy. We discussed the following consultation items today: Rated License Assessment: Your ERS assessment score must be received before your rated license re-assessment is completed. Annual Reminders: As discussed during today’s visit the following items must be completed/updated annually. Staff Records: Annual training, Emergency/Health questionnaire, review of EPR Plan and Emergency Care Plan review. Children Records: Updated emergency information and action plans. These documents will be monitored for compliance during each annual compliance visit. Sample forms can be found on the DCDEE website. As a reminder, please make sure you update the Off-site verification forms for Staff and Children’s records each year. Your principal should sign these forms at the beginning of the school year. Annual Training: Each year I will monitor training from the last school year. Please have this information available for review.
