Kery Locklear, lead teacher assisted me with the visit. The program operated with a five-star license, issued May 17, 2019, earning seven points for education, seven points for program standards, and one quality point for complying with an education option. License restrictions include daytime care only, meets all enhanced requirements, and reduced ratios minus one. The last annual compliance visit was conducted February 08, 2024. The sanitation inspection was completed April 23, 2024, with a “Superior” classification. The last fire inspection was conducted on January 10, 2024, and your facility was approved for daytime care only. I visited each indoor and outdoor space. Children were observed during teacher lead and free play activities. Teachers interacted with children on their level. Age-appropriate materials and equipment were accessible to children. Children were adequately supervised. Lunch consisted of chicken and cheese with/Wo Mexican rice, grilled cheese, ranchero beans, salsa, oranges, tomato cup and milk. The following violations were cited during today’s visit: Violation Number Comment Rule 106 Operator has not scheduled and obtained a fire inspection within 12 months of the previous inspection. Operator did not submit the original approved report to DCDEE within one week of the inspection visit on a form provided by the Division. The last fire inspection is dated 1/10/24. 10A NCAC 09 .0304(a) 1048 All staff did not successfully complete certification in First Aid appropriate to the age of children in care. Verification of staff completion of First Aid training from an approved training organization was not in the staff file. Documentation was not on file for one staff member. .1102(c) 1898 Staff did not complete the health and safety training within one year of employment. Documentation was not on file for one staff member. .1102(a) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. I observed children participating in outdoor free play, transitions, and personal care routines. Children transition to teacher lead activities outdoors. The caregivers were interacting and meeting the developmental needs for each of the children. No new staff files were reviewed due to there being no new employees. Rated license requirements were reviewed to ensure compliance was maintained with current program and education components as well as the quality point. The following violation was observed today.
