Bridget Lowry, Group Leader assisted me with the visit. The program operated with a three star license, issued September 1, 2018, earning seven points for education, two points for program standards, and one quality point for complying with a programmatic option. License restrictions include daytime care only, school age children only, meets enhance space, and playground equipment does not meet childcare playground safety standards. The program’s compliance history was one hundred percent as of October 2, 2024. I observed children during transition to after school care and personal care routines. The group leaders were interacting and meeting the developmental needs for each of the children. Three new staff files were reviewed. Violation Number Comment Rule 1041 Prior to employment a Criminal Background Check was not completed. Three new staff employed September 3, 2024 did have a Criminal Background Check before they were hired to work for the Primetime program. G.S. 110-90.2(b) 1757 A valid qualification letter was not on file and available to review at the facility. Three new staff employed September 3, 2024 did have a valid qualification letter on file or available for review. G.S. 110-90.2(b) & (d) & .2703(e) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Any violation(s) documented may impact the compliance history score. The violation(s) documented must be corrected immediately. On or before October 17, 2024, I must receive a written, dated, and signed compliance letter that describes accurately and in detail how and when the violations were corrected. Please be aware any information submitted by you is legal documentation. If it is determined the information provided in the letter is not true, this may be considered falsification of information. If sufficient information is not received by the due date, a follow-up visit will be conducted. Mail or email the information to: Nakita Bellamy, Child Care Consultant 3059 North Main Street. Oxendine has to leave immediately and cannot work until they receive qualified letter. You must maintain child/staff ratios at all times. Technical Assistance Staff-child ratio refers to the maximum number of children who may be supervised by one staff member. A group is the maximum number of children occupying an individual classroom or well-defined space. When determining the staff-child ratios that your center is going to meet, you need to think realistically about the group leaders ability to manage routines with the children as well as time for other activities during after school care. At the completion of the visit, this visit summary was printed, reviewed, and a copy was left with you.
