Health & Safety Requirements were also reviewed. INDOOR & OUTDOOR SAFETY: A safe, hazard-free indoor and outdoor environment is crucial in early childhood settings. During today’s visit, I discussed with you the importance of routinely inspecting both indoor and outdoor areas for hazardous items and broken equipment. It is also important that expectations are clearly communicated to all staff regarding daily safety checks, compliance with safety requirements, and the responsibility to promptly report any hazards, broken items, or equipment in poor repair. OUTDOOR SAFETY: Maintaining a safe outdoor environment is an important part of supporting child development, as it allows children to explore, take appropriate risks, and engage in active play in a safe and secure setting. When children feel safe in their environment, they are more confident to explore, interact with peers, and develop important physical, social, and problem-solving skills. During today’s visit, we discussed the importance of monitoring the outdoor play area prior to children going outside to play. We talked about how critters and small animals often seek shade under equipment, especially during the hotter months, making it important to thoroughly check the playground before children enter the area. Completing a daily outdoor safety check helps ensure that the environment is safe and free from hazards. **ANNUAL REMINDERS: As discussed during today’s visit the following items must be completed/updated annually. --Staff Records: Updated Emergency/Health Questionnaire, review of EPR Plan and Emergency Care Plan review. --Children Records: Updated emergency information --These documents will be monitored for compliance during each annual compliance visit.
