Nettie Lewis, assistant assisted me with the visit. Terrell Blue, owner arrived around 4pm. Your program currently operates with a four- star license, issued July 21, 2023, earning 7 points in education, 2 points in program for completing a 3-month self- study and 1 quality point for serving no more than two infants under age one. Your program was also monitored for compliance with implementing an approved curriculum as required for all four and five star licensed facilities where four-year-old children are enrolled. The last annual compliance visit was conducted July 19, 2023. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was ninety- five percent as of today. I visited each indoor and outdoor space. Children were cared for in a nurturing and caring manner. The license restrictions were maintained and found in compliance. The children were observed during teacher directed activities. The children were observed getting off the afterschool bus and eating snack. The afternoon snack consisted of apples, crackers and water. Two violations were cited during today's visit. I received a compliance letter from Ms. Blue for the violations found out of compliance during today's visit: Violation Number Comment Rule 910 Copy of each child's health assessment, including the operator's own preschool child(ren), was not on file within 30 days of enrollment. The health assessments for 2 children were on file more than 30 days after enrollment. Technical assistance was given on the following: Visit the DCDEE website and print off the most recent copy of the children’s file check list. Place the check list on top of each child’s file. The check list will help you keep track of pertinent dates and necessary documents needed on file. You signed today’s visit on my tablet. A computer generated copy was sent to the email address on file within 48 hours of today’s visit. FYI Through collaborative efforts, the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE), and the North Carolina Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center, a program of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, are excited to announce that the CCDF Health and Safety trainings are now available in the DCDEE Moodle learning platform.
