Precious Byrd assisted me with the visit. Your program currently operates with a five-star license, issued April 18, 2022, earning 6 points in the education component, 7 points in the program standards component (meeting highest voluntary enhanced requirements, meets enhanced ratios and space) and 1 quality point for the administrator having at least 10 years of documented administrative work experience in a licensed program that can be verified by the Division. Your program was also monitored for compliance with implementing an approved curriculum as required for all four and five star licensed facilities where four-year-old children are enrolled. Your last annual compliance visit was conducted November 26, 2024. Your sanitation inspection was completed on May 22, 2025, with a “Superior” classification. Your fire inspection remains current since your last visit. The fire inspection is dated December 11, 2024, and your facility was approved for daytime and night care. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was 98% as of today. I visited each indoor and outdoor learning spaces. One new staff member had been hired since the last visit. The children were cared for in a nurturing and caring manner. Rated license requirements were discussed to ensure continued compliance. Lunch is posted and listed as BBQ pork, mashed potatoes, corn, bread and milk. The following violation was observed during today’s visit: Violation Number Comment Rule 1065 Child care providers scheduled to work in the infant room, did not complete ITS-SIDS training within two months of employment or did not complete the training every three years. Child care administrators did not complete the ITS-SIDS training within 90 days of employment and every three years thereafter. The administrator's SIDS training expired 6/29/21. .1102(f) Child care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Any violations documented may impact the compliance history score. The violations documented must be corrected immediately. The last annual compliance visit was conducted February 23, 2023. The sanitation inspection was completed October 30, 2023, with a “Superior” classification. The last fire inspection was conducted December 11, 2023, and your facility was approved for daytime and night care. The center's compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was 100 percent as of today. I visited each indoor and outdoor space. A child enrolled in space #2 was engaged in a teacher directed sorting activity. No new staff had been hired since the last visit. The children were cared for in a nurturing and caring manner. Rated license requirements were discussed to insure continued compliance. Lunch is posted and listed as chicken nuggets, baked beans, apple sauce, bread, and milk. The following violations were observed. Violation Number Comment Rule 721 All equipment and furnishings were not in good repair. In space #1, a shelf had peeling paint. G.S. 110-91(6); .0601(b) 1115 First aid kit and/or fire extinguisher was not located in vehicle; kit and/or extinguisher was not mounted or secured if in passenger area. The fire extinguisher, located in the van used to transports children, indicated that the canister was empty. 10A NCAC 09 .1003(c) 1311 Emergency medical care information was not on file in the center on the child's first day of attendance and/or was not updated as changes occurred or at least annually for each child. One child's emergency information had not been updated at least annually. .0802(c) Child Care programs are expected to achieve and maintain compliance at all times and are required by NC GS 110-90(4) (d) to achieve and maintain an eighteen-month compliance history score of at least seventy-five percent. Any violations documented may impact the compliance history score. The violations documented must be corrected immediately. On or before February 6, 2024, I must receive a written, dated, and signed compliance letter that describes accurately and in detail how and when the violations were corrected. Please be aware any information submitted by you is legal documentation. If it is determined the information provided in the letter is not true, this may be considered falsification of information. If sufficient information is not received by the due date, a follow-up visit will be conducted.
