A computerized generated report of today’s visit was completed, reviewed with you, printed, and signed by me, Dawn McCrary, Child Care Consultant, and you, Morgan Abendroth, Director, during the visit. Permit type – Five Star Child Care License issued 5/15/19 earning five (5) points in Staff Education; seven (7) points in Program Standards; and one (1) Quality Point. Permit restrictions: Daytime care only; School age children only; Playground does not meet NC child care licensing safety requirements; Meets reduced ratios by 1. Reduced group size by 1 from the 7 point level; Meets enhanced space. The center’s compliance history was reviewed with the operator. The program’s compliance history was one hundred (100) percent as of 09/17/2024. The following areas were monitored: Supervision Ratios CPR First Aid Criminal Record Checks Emergency Medical Care Plan Administration of Medication Storage of Hazardous Substances Storage of Medication Adequate/Approved Space General Safety Discipline Program Records License Posted/ Permit Restrictions. Today, I made my presence known to Morgan Abendroth, Director and Irene Perez, Group Leader. Ms. Abendroth and Ms. Perez were available to assist during the visit. Upon arrival the approved space was prepared for the children’s arrival. As the children arrived they sanitized their hands and placed individual baskets on the table to contain their personal belongings and toileted and washed their hands. The children were observed participating in an art and writing activity, eating snack, and having free choice play with the materials on the tables and carpeted areas. a science activity with a live plant was observed. The group of children and staff transition to outdoor play at 4:00pm. All interactions were positive and nurturing. Supervision was adequate. There is one (1)) newly hired staff. The newly hired staff file was monitored during the visit. One (1) emergency medication was monitored for child care requirements. Ms. Abendroth and Ms. Perez have valid Background qualifying letters, required trainings, and current CPR and FA. This program does not provide transportation. I used the Child Care Center Item Number Listing (DCDEE-0357) as a basic monitoring tool to assess compliance with all applicable child care requirements pertinent to this facility. For specific rule references, refer to Chapter 110 General Statues Child Care Facilities, Chapter nine (9) Child Care Rule (10A NCAC 09) and Section 2800 Sanitation of Child Care Center (15A NCAC 18A) for additional information. Child Care Rule 10A NCAC 09 .2830 (c) If employment-related changes occur at a facility that result in the operator not complying with the standards in the Section for the star rating issued, the operator shall correct the noncompliance within 120 days.
